BEDROOM ROYALTY NIGHTSTANDS - crown hardware
Recently someone brought me a little surprise, a beautiful potted begonia. I decided to use it in styling the photos of these nightstands.
HIGH PRIORITY - chandelier lamp
I finish furniture like bunnies have babies, it's just what I enjoy doing.
Unfortunately that leaves other things I collect sitting around being moved from place to place,
waiting for my attention.
One such project is a couple of vintage chandelier lamps I bought 9 months ago,
they are not a matched set but both are very elegant on their own.

TURQUOISE KROEHLER DRESSER - chippy finish
Posted photos of painted furniture never truly conveys the "in person" color. This Kroehler dresser is a bright full bodied TURQUOISE, and gorgeous with the dark wood showing through.

A GLIMPSE INSIDE - sneak peaks
On Mother's Day I shared some of Joanne's home and teased you with
the thought that I might share more,
Today's the day you get another glimpse into her wonderful decor.
Also I am currently working on 2 large Canadian made dressers.
The first one is coming along in a distressed turquoise
and the other has these amazing details.
And finally a sneak peak into our re-arranged and re-decorated dressing room.
I will get you more pictures of everything going on around here soon.
BACON AND POTATOES - pantry unit

CHANGING GEARS - vancouver subway art dresser
I did it in reverse!
Rather than the black background of my first Vancouver Subway Art dresser
I've finished this next one in white.
It started as a beat up, orangie colored, tall boy.
The drawers were is good shape but the runners and glides had to be replaced
that's why they look so wonky in this photo.
The top was removed to refinish and
the drawers were removed for the repairs I had to do inside the cabinet.
On a beautiful sunny day I sprayed the body in ASCP Old White
and stripped the top to be re-stained and waxed.

MOTHER'S DAY HOME TOUR - joanne's livingroom
For all you shabby chic loving moms out there
I have a wonderful room tour to share with you on your special day.
Recently George and I had the opportunity to meet Joanne
and were honoured to see inside her beautiful home.
And she was kind enough to let me have my way with the camera to share with you.
I took a LOT of photos so you may be lucky enough to see more rooms down the road,
but for now I am just going to spoil you with her livingroom.
And trust me when I say,
"THE WHOLE HOUSE LOOKS AMAZING"
Joanne's has been thinking about painting the gold fire screen.
My opinion was either way looks wonderful but I thought we would get your input.
DO YOU THINK THE FIRE SCREEN SHOULD STAY GOLD OR GO WHITE?
reclaimed furniture decor
I wanted to share a few more items I have reclaimed out of all my bits and pieces
saved from my furniture escapades.
First are these fun beach themed wall hangers, does anyone recognize what they are made from?
They have metal star shaped knobs to hang from, i.e. towels, keys, coats.
If I had a poolside that's where they would be hanging now.
One of my favorite reclaimed items is the plaster molding hooks.
As promised over on our FACEBOOK page I completed some with vintage glass door knobs.
An finally another large set of pillar candle holders, painted and distressed in bright white and
built from bed parts, drawer faces, and embellished with Fleur DE Lis.
Many ppl that are not local have asked how to
purchase some of these smaller items, we are dabbling in opening an Etsy shop to provide anyone with the ability to purchase some of the smaller items I reclaim.
I will keep you informed.
PILLARS, PANSIES, PENDANTS, and PATIENCE - reclaimed decor items
I've been working magic to transform unwanted furniture bits
into fabulous home decor items.
Plaster Molding Wall Hooks
Reclaimed Cabinet Doors with French Graphics
Pillar Candle Holders made from Discarded Furniture Pieces.
I have to be short on words today because I have to get back to creating.
WHITE SEWING MACHINE - repurposed treadle sewing cabinet
I was working on trying to rebuild a pile of woods bits and pieces back into something that looked like a sewing table. The Kentucky Derby was on TV while I was do it ...
BEDSIDE NIGHTSTANDS - blue & butterfly themed

I started with this staring back at me
After some work I had these staring back at me.
Wouldn't it be great if that's all I had to do or maybe
just wiggle my nose and magically it all happens.
I painted the cabinets a a medium blue then a light blue top coat.
The drawers were lined with a shimmery blue silver wallpaper and have chippy white butterfly swing handles on the front.
I also added graphics to the tops of each cabinet.
Each has an ornate wreath surrounding a butterfly and crown.
You can also find a side by side before and after pic here.
