SIGN MAKING FOR OUR KITCHEN - and hanging heavy wall items
Our kitchen sign was made using a portion of an old wood door that already had chipping paint. Once I knew I was using the word "KITCHEN" I measured how much space I had so I could calculate how big each letter could be. And then formulated a plan to make the letters I needed with supplies I already had in the house.
KITCHEN REVEAL - our home tour
Over the last little while I have rediscovered a few areas in our home and the kitchen is one of the spots I have focused on. I have also never really done a true reveal on this room so it's about time. It all started with a new set of shelves and spilled over to refinishing the fridge and even GG's coffee station got a makeover. I'm super happy with the new look and now it's time to share our little piece of heaven with you.
KITCHEN ISLAND UPDATES - white and turquoise
Lately each morning while working at the kitchen island I have been hearing a familiar sound coming from outside. It doesn't lasting long enough for me to get out there and before I know I am brushing it off as if I've just imagined it. But yesterday morning I heard the noise again, and I was at
the front door taking some pictures, the sound was loud and
obvious and I rushed outside to investigate.
CHRISTMAS KITCHEN DECOR - decorating my cupboard doors
I find it hard to fit Christmas decorations into my small kitchen so I went looking for inspiration this year. I found wreaths hung on cabinets which I adored but this felt too big for my little space still.

I have fallen in love with another finished project. It is a lovely kitchen storage piece built for a small space.
BACON AND POTATOES - pantry unit
GG and I had a nice long weekend, we got away on a couple day trips and I did a little painting., I re-arranged an entire room that I will share soon, and got some photos taken of a new pantry unit.
KITCHEN COFFEE STATION - wallpaper and new lady
I picked up a new woman for George at a local yard sale.
She's was a cheap date at only $2.70
This metal sign had such a rainbow of colors and a great vintage feel we decided to work in that direction for our whole kitchen.
Below is the BEFORE picture of the oven hood, upper cabinets, and area used as the COFFEE
STATION. The thing you see in the bottom left corner is an old AC unit that started to smell very
odd when it ran so it was removed.
NEW and IMPROVED
The entire wall was papered. The lower section with a 3D tile paper and the top was papered in
a colorful French paper that adds to the whimsical feel we wanted. His new lady greets him every morning for coffee.

I had to put an extra strip of wood along the back to
level the hangers because of the angle of
the ladder step. Under normal circumstances
you would not do this.
