WHY I USE CHALK PAINT - with 35 years of experience

One spring morning years ago we were running late after sleeping in. It was one of those Saturdays we enjoyed spending together. All morning we would drive around doing the yard sale thing.

BIG LEGS ADDED TO A SIDEBOARD - woodworking

While working outside in the warmth of the summer's sun I took several photos to show how a frame would need to be built to install a set of legs on a buffet. I had imagined these big carved legs added to this cabinet, just like the picture. I had the legs in a crate in my back room but I would need to see how the cabinet was built before I knew if I could make it a reality.

VINTAGE FURNITURE REPAIRS - broken drawer joints

Recently I worked on a buffet that needed
major repairs. I photographed most of it to share how I fixed each problem.
I'm hoping it can help a few of you to
take on a repair or two of your own.

ADDING LEGS TO A BUFFET - building up the frame work

I imagined these heavy duty set of carved legs added to this cabinet, just like the picture. I even had the perfect set sitting in a crate in my back room. First I would need to see how the original cabinet was built. While working it outside in the warmth of the summer's sun I took several photos to show how the frame needed to be built and what I did to install a set of legs.

This entire build was created using recycled items. Let me share with you how it was done.

HOW TO REUSE OLD WINDOWS - lovely french shelf

I love to create, whether I'm
building something with wood
or setting the stage for a great
photo shoot. This time around
I custom designed a French
shelf from two vintage school
house windows.

CABINET REDO - second time around

This is a newer updated look for a cabinet I had already made over once. She has been given a softer younger look rather than showing her age.

Check out the before and after photos below ...
