HOW TO BUILD NEW FURNITURE from old furniture

I've compiled some photos of many of the
reclaimed wood bits and furniture parts that
I used to build this fancy cabinet. Many of
these things are common finds on the road
side, used building supply stores, and many
thrifts stores.

FRIGHTENING TO FRENCH - french book shelf

I was inspired to create a

a cabinet a friend built.
Let me share with you

TWINS - pair of black night stands

These little fellows stand tall but don't
take up too much space at just 17.5" wide.

Below left you can see before the top surface trim was added.

Do you have matching night tables?

Or do you have a unique mismatched pair?

OTTOMANS - re-upholstered

I ran across 2 identical cat devoured faux leather ottomans at a yard sale
but I didn't buy them.

Later that day we came across a yard sale with bolts and bolts of upholstery weight designer
fabrics. They were selling the last yard or so from upholstery work they had done in the past.

I chose several rolls which included this zebra print. It was thick and a beautiful print.

I also bought this thick 1/4" plush creamy white velour.

The problem was I didn't buy the ottomans when I first saw them. So then I raced back
to their last known location fingers crossed the whole way.

It was near the end of the day but as you guessed they were still there.

The zebra one was re-upholstered that week but the plush white has just been finished now.

They have great hinges that keep the lid open and they close with a feather light touch.

DESIGNER SECRETARY - revamped vintage drop front desk

I'm sure I must be going thru a paper phase,
beautiful paper thou.

This is designer wallpaper available at Walmart
that I used for interior of the desk writing area.

I also used it to line all the drawers.

I used appliques and wood trim to give this desk some style.

The paint color of the lower handles is called OYSTER
and dries in 10 minutes, but smells to high heaven.
