REVIST - creamy white secretary

Originally built back in the summer of 2010,
this is a desk I made to look just a bit better than when it started.

The bottom was a regular drop front desk needing a fix or two,
however I built the top part from several salvaged pieces.

I built this piece while working a full time regular job,
many late nights and early mornings.
All done in the middle of my little kitchen.

The main body of the upper cabinet was a old shelf that I customized.

- the doors are from another hutch unit.
- appliques were bought at a yard sale.
- vintage hardware from a discarded cabinet.
- crown molding was free on a local internet recycle site.

I used tongue and groove boards on the back of the upper cabinet,
salvage from a water bed headboard.

ST. PATTIES DAY - green inspiration pictorial

St. Patrick’s Day is observed on March 17
because that is the feast day of St. Patrick,
the patron saint of Ireland. It is believed that he
died on March 17 in the year 461 AD.

In Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day,
people traditionally wear a small bunch of
shamrocks on their jackets or caps. Children wear
orange, white and green badges, and women and
girls wear green ribbons in their hair.

A leprechaun is a type of fairy in Irish folklore,
usually taking the form of an old man, clad in a red
or green coat, who enjoys partaking in mischief.

The Leprechauns spend all their time busily making
shoes, and store away all their coins in a hidden pot
of gold at the end of the rainbow. If ever captured
by a human, the Leprechaun has the magical power
to grant three wishes in exchange for their release.

In the color spectrum of the rainbow,
green is a second-order color formed from the
mixing of yellow and blue.

In feng shui green means balance
which inturn brings harmony.

It is versatile and it isn't gender specific
until we choose it to be.

We can find green just about
 anywhere we look,

Green apples

Green glass
Green limes

Green beds

 Green curtains

Green walls

Green shades

Green chairs

Green doors

My favorite green will always be *HOME*
