OMBRE DRESSER FOR TODDLER with tips & turquoise

Do you want to paint an Ombre dresser? Have you ever wondered why
it's called Ombre? I will help answer some of these questions and offer tips I learned while creating my Ombre dresser for a little family member.

MID CENTURY CONSOLE - white and walnut finish

BEFORE                                             AFTER

She has a single sliding door and a mirrored back on the left side.

I taped off the very bottom of the legs where the metal feet are and painted them white.

The wood has all been dark waxed and polished.

The handles were scrubbed clean and painted white.

MID-CENTURY, DANISH MODERN, & RETRO FURNITURE

Every now and then I come across a fun mid-century piece
of furniture that needs a rescue.

This time it was a 4 drawer chest, the exterior teak
veneer was very weathered, stained, and dried out.

I removed the drawers and sprayed the cabinet
with a flat white enamel to block the stains.

I then sprayed the exterior with a creamy white
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I finished it up by dark waxing the drawers and clear
waxed the body to get that soft velvety feel I adore so much.

There is something regal about mid-century furniture
with its simple shapes, clean lines, and unique designs.

Another familiar look of these pieces are the tapered
and angular legs they have.

Like this sweeping long dresser pictured below
many of the pieces have handles built into the design.

I like the combination of a beautiful bone white paired
with the walnut finish on mid-century pieces.

It easily enhances the original
design, shape, and beauty of the furniture.

BETTY BLUE BED

The Betty Blue Bed Frame

Here is her before and after ...

She was one of those discarded mid-century single beds we all see.

I added some decorative drawer fronts I had,

and lifted her spirits with some ornate chair backs and some legs.

She is painted in a very soft blue and highlighted with antique white accents.
