This pair of 1970's colonial nightstands have been painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and given an old world finish using dark wax. I have offered some links to several articles showing how I achieved this look.

The real trick to achieving this old world effect is furniture
wax. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is designed to be used with a
clear wax but there is also a dark wax that helped me get this
