WINTER BEDROOM - new carpet and footboard

I made some important additions to our bedroom in the fall. Improvements specifically made for this winter.

AREA RUG
The first one and most important to me is an area rug for the
bedroom floor. I wanted it to be large enough to keep our
feet warm when getting out of bed. We live in a trailer in the
country and the walls and floors are very cold in the winter.
Until now we each had a small rug on either side of the bed
but now I feel very fortunate to have a warm walk most of
the way to the bathroom each night. This room is 11 feet wide
by 11.4 deep and the bed is a queen.
MY MOTTO
I looked for 2 - 3 months for the right sized rug that I would
fall in love with but also at the right price. I was having some
luck at HomeSense with style and price but not with size. We
ended up finding it at a Big Box Liquidation location. It is a
high end rug that was returned and now discounted, just for us!
Don't give up and don't settle.

CURSE WORDS
Now that I have shown you the pretty rug imagine GG and I
getting it slid under the heavy bed. As well the bed frame
has a center leg we had to deal with. Lots of curse words and
 sweating happened that day.

FOOT BOARD
I also add a foot board to the bed so the bulky
winter bedding wouldn't fall off the end. We double up the
duvet each year when the weather starts to get cold and the
extra weight always pulls it over the end of the bed.

DREAMING
Our whole bed is custom built by yours truly and
the foot board is also a re-purposed piece I made. I have
attached it with a french cleat on the end of the box spring.
The only problem so far is if one of us gets rambunctious
while dreaming it is possible to kick it hard enough it lifts off
and lands on the floor. Which in turn means we are both
awakened by the crashing sound.
So far it's only happened twice in 2 months.

STAY WARM THIS WINTER!
