I have been updating our front porch and I have added a potting bench to help organize my garden stuff and I also built some interesting planter boxes.
THE MAKEOVER
Here is a reminder of the porch makeover.
It's pretty dramatic even to us.
SOME PAINTING
Since I last shared the progress,
the ceiling has been painted as well as the floor.

THE LIGHTS
I found the big over head light years ago, road side.
It is heavy with each pedal being made of marbled colored
glass and framed with black iron work. I also mounted a
smaller brass wall sconce with crystals on the side.
****************************
MAIL
I added two different sized metal
mail box / drop off things.

THE DOOR BELL
I looked for a country bell for a long time. I wanted
something simple and more importantly I wanted
something vintage, not made in China. It finally came to
me thru my daughter. I painted the wood plate with Annie
Sloan Graphite and braided my own rope to ring the bell.

POTTING BENCH / SHELF
I love working with what I have and also inspiring you to look
around your home before hitting the stores. These days we
don't have a lot of options so I headed to the shed and pulled
out an old chippy wood shelf to create the storage I needed.
****************************
SEED STORAGE
I had an extra set of little thrift store drawers waiting to
be used. Perfect to keep the seeds safe and organized.
These drawers found new are super inexpensive and
can be transformed any way you like.

DIY PLANTERS
I designed and built these planter boxes with some free
lumber we picked up from fb marketplace. They are framed
with simple 2x3 lumber, and built to fit tight beside the railing.
The first two are full length to the ground and the last
two are shorter.
