A STENCIL, PAINT, DARK WAX, AND NEW LEGS - paris dresser

I made this dresser look
unique by using dark wax
only in certain places. In this
article I have explained how I
did it and included many other
resources to create this look.

The first step to making over this chest of drawers
was to add legs to get it off the ground.

The second step was to paint the dresser with Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint. For the color I used see link below.

The original top surface had been well used and had some
great texture, dents & divots that would highlight well with
 dark wax.
First the dresser was waxed with clear wax and then the next
morning. I started to dark wax the legs, middle drawer and
top. You can see in the photo below how the dark wax settles
in the the groves, divots, and scratches on the top surface.

The middle drawer is thick and flat not wavy like the top and
bottom. It gives the whole piece a very unique look and
is what drew me to this dresser in the first place.
distressed the edges of the dresser with a 120 grit sand paper

With the hardware I chose I did not have to fill any old holes
but if you have to I have an article on that, see link below
And to drill new holes I also have a link for you below

The silver metal fleur de lis on the middle drawer was
something I found in a junk pile years ago and had to be
flattened on the back side to attach. A big thank you to my
father for all the small metal working jobs I send his way
 including this one.

The last step was the stenciling on the top drawer made
using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco.
