FRENCH NIGHTSTANDS MADE WITH PLYWOOD - white bedside cabinets

This nightstand started out as a simple little box made
completely of quarter inch plywood. It was lovely homemade by someone one once upon a time.

I really like working with plywood because it is super strong and can be worked with the same way solid wood can be. Plywood in most cases is even stronger than solid wood. Plywood is a sheet material manufactured from thin layers or "plies" of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. The process to make plywood has been around for about 200 years. Below left is the BEFORE
picture and you can see the quarter inch plywood used to make it. I used a 50 50 mix of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White and Old White to get the creamy color.

I added legs from a coffee table to the front and spindles for the back legs.

I attached a heavy cast iron ornament to the bottom front with screws.

REAL vintage wall paper was used to line the drawers.

Then I did it all over again to make a second one.
