FRONT MOUNTING HARDWARE

Sometime you have to choose front mounting hardware.

Vintage handles that mount through drawer fronts can be almost any size from 1" and up, but the most common size is 3" mounting between screw holes on center.

When I started to work on this project, I notice the handle mounting was small.  When I measured I find these holes were 2.5" apart. This number won't mean much to many of you but for those looking for handles that mount in 2.5" holes you know they are hard to find.

I have a lovely set of vintage swing handles that mounted from the front with little screws. They would cover over the existing holes and bring a unique look to the piece.

Front mounting hardware is fastened with screws through a
front plate. The ones I used were antique brass pulls with
tiny brass flat head screws. I pre-drilled for my little
screws so I would not strip the head.

This Wonderful Console Table was an abused Bombay piece.
I fixed all the issues and covered the water marks with Annie
Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
