FRENCH BLUE CHALK PAINT - diy painted dresser

CHANGING GEARS
I tried a different look at first with this dresser but it just wasn't my style or for that matter the dresser's style. I had to rethink my plans right in the middle but it was definitely for the best. Come take a look at how my French Blue dresser came to be.

Here is the BEFORE, quite a difference huh?
It had been painted in a chocolate brown latex.

I tried to use the brown to achieve a funky modern design,
but there were missing bits to the drawer corners. It didn't
look right with a clean modern design so I changed plans and
went with a well used vintage feel.

I adding the legs and these wonderful swirling appliques.
They change the whole feel and shape of the dresser.

All the distressing made the piece come alive
and I achieved the right look.

I mixed the awesome blue shade using Annie Sloan Chalk
Paint. I'm sorry to say though it was a kitchen counter
creation with no recipe, but for those of you wanting to try
to recreate it, it is very close to Duck Egg but not as strong,

The drawers got a silver and blue lining, wallpaper from Home Depot.

The escutcheons aka fancy keyhole plates are just for looks.
